Hello! We are using a clicker to mark when our puppy goes potty outside, then she immediately gets a treat. I know that I’m supposed to mark the behavior after she goes, but after she squats, she sniffs around. Since that is “part of the process”, should I click as she is coming up from squatting or after she is done with her sniff. Reason I’m asking is because it stops her from doing the sniff if I click it on her way up from the squat, and I’m sure that’s an important part of the process for her, but also want her to immediately recognize the reward for going outside.
If you catch your puppy pooping or peeing inside, how do you handle? Do you say anything like “no” or “outside”? Then take them out?
Anything special I should if I find the poop/pee in the house, but don’t catch her in the act (besides cleaning with enzyme cleaner)?
