So we got a 9 weeks old Coton last Friday (so 5 days now) . He's already crate trained to sleep at night so I don't want to mess with that. Potty training is going along oka, but we take him out ALL THE TIME, it's a bit exhausting.
What seems to not really working is playpen training. We set him up a nice playpen, with toys, cushion, pee pad and water. Since day 1,he's been going in by himself without a hitch, and we leave the door open. One of us has been home all the time this week, but we tried to leave him alone in the pen yesterday and I had to do it today too to pick up my son. 5 minutes first time, 10-15 minutes today. When I came back, I peeked through the window and the poor little guy was going bonkers, panting, crying and flipping his bed. I had left him a Kong with a nice treat in it, but that didn't seem sufficient.
What do I do next? I need to leave him again tomorrow for 10 minutes and a couple times next week. Will he eventually calm down if we keep doing exactly the same? Or should we take another approach?
