Apologies if this is against mod rules. Are Boxers being phased out to be Pittbulls now? I've been actively looking for a legitimate Boxer for 2yrs since my Boxer passed away from old age. There is only one AKC registered breeder in my state which I'm on a waitlist. I'd love to rescue, however every ad or rescue I try has Pitts labeled as Boxers, there is a distinct look and personality in these two breeds. I grew up with Boxers and have an attachment to this breed. Its depressing to see this occurrence.
Has anyone else noticed this or is this just an issue in my location?
