Picking a puppy.. seeking advice.

To start off, this is not from a breeder nor a backyard breeder. I understand there are a lot of dog in need, this was an accidental litter that has fallen into my orbit and mom is getting spayed once the puppies are gone. For dog breed think medium sized mutt/reservation dog type. I have had puppies and know the ins and out but never had the opportunity/gotten to choose from a litter.

Now, I met all of the puppies at 5.5 weeks old. I have always had girl dogs and am pretty partial to them. There were two puppies that I liked and they were both very different:

The girl: playful, liked to explore, but still checking in with the rest of the puppies/the people that were there. She wasn’t timid and would respond to playful finger taps and liked to rough house a bit with the other puppies. Not overly mouthy like some of the pups. She didn’t love to be cuddled, was chill to tolerant about being held, but when it was nap time she curled up in my jacket and fell asleep right next to me. She didn’t seem to be extra energergetic compared the rest of pups.

The boy: super snuggly. Didn’t play too much with the other puppies, seemed to prefer being by the humans and slept for like almost the entire time (except for food). He fell asleep in my lap, my friends lap, basically just content to be cozy and asleep. He didn’t seem unaware or anything, just like unfazed by the playing that was going on? He was so chill it makes me think he’d just be an easy going dog, but I’m unsure how easygoing of a dog I want?

Anyone who has experience with this stuff and cares to share their input that’s mad be great. Idk if either of these are sign for something in the future that should be noted. I am comfortable with training and would like a dog that’s down to explore and experience things but also content to be chill. Thank you for the input!! Please don’t lecture me, that is unproductive at this point.
