I got my rescue when she was about a year and a half old, and she’s always struggled with potty training. I’ve followed all the usual recommendations: a consistent potty schedule, frequent breaks during the day, little to no punishment, and lots of praise and treats when she goes outside. For the most part she does potty outdoors, but about once or twice a week she’ll pee inside, and about once a month she’ll even poop indoors, almost always when I’m out of the apartment or asleep. When I’m out for longer periods (like work) she’s gated in the kitchen.
Since I’ve been consistent with training and it’s been two years, I’m wondering what my next steps should be. I’ve have dropped urine samples by the vet and the vet said it clear for a UTI. Is there anything I might be missing, or anything else I can try?
