like the title says, our newly rescued dog will not poop outside, only inside in a corner in our dining room. we brought her home yesterday and take her out every 2-3 hrs, except throughout the night between 11p-7a. she’s been sleeping a lot, as she was spayed on mon and has coccidia, which we’re treating her for with meds from vet. a few hrs ago, i took her outside and walked from patch to patch of grass. she showed no interest in sniffing and didn’t pee or poop. we were outside for no less than 25 mins and as SOON as we came back inside, she almost immediately went to the corner in the dining room, squatted, and pooped (i watched her) – which would be her second time pooping in the same area today. earlier, i didn’t get frustrated but i was very irritated this time as we’d spent over 20 mins outside.
so what can i do differently? i have a schedule i plan on beginning with her but rn, i’m just going based on her body language. she slept like 75% of the day today. whenever she gets out of her bed and begins walking around, i take her outside. as for rn, i laid a puppy pad down.
