Hi! I got a 5 month old standard groodle from a breeder 5 days ago.
She’s a beautiful girl but very scared to go outside, I have been working on socializing her to walks etc but she really doesn’t want to leave the house for walks or potty. I usually carry her out then get her to walk with me back in after potty.
Similar to our tiny socialization walks, I carry her out then she walks around the street for a bit but she is clearly very scared.
She also isn’t interested in toys or playing she mostly sleeps unless she’s with my partners dog.
I know she’s fresh and scared though I’m concerned this behavior won’t rectify itself given she may have already missed the best socialization windows. Do I just keep up with what I have been doing? Will this likely get better? Or should I get a special trainer
– we’re going to enrol in puppy pre school
– my partner has a older dog (don’t live together) she’s a totally different confident dog around him and will follow him anywhere (outside)
– she’s fully vaxxed and happy otherwise.
