Hello!
I’ve been reading the wiki & working on neutralizing my 9month year old dog to other dogs on walks. He isn’t aggressive, but he’s overly excited/ “frustrated greater”.
I’m having trouble figuring out the instruction of “praise when calm”, as he sometimes will sit and lock in on another dog but not bark/cry.
During these times, he won’t respond to treats so I understand that I need to move him further away from the trigger, but does this type of looking behavior count as being calm? I’m confused on when to treat for not barking/pulling vs treating for disengaging/focusing on me.
