Hey everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice here.
I’ve had my dog for about 3 years now — I adopted him from the Humane Society. When I first got him, my husband and I tried to give him a bath, but he had a terrible reaction and ended up biting us. The second time we tried, he ran away.
Since then, my aunt has been taking him to Tijuana, where they lightly sedate him so he can get a bath and haircut. It’s been working, but I really don’t want to keep putting him under medication just for grooming. We usually take him about once a month.
He’s mostly an indoor dog, so he stays pretty clean — but I’d love to find a safer and less stressful way to bathe him, either at home or at a self-wash place.
He’s a Chow-Lab mix (so, lots of fur 😅). Has anyone had experience with this kind of situation? Any tips or products that might help make bath time less scary for him would be greatly appreciated!
