So this has been going on for the past 2-3 years that I've been living with my roommate who has a dog. He's a 4 year-old bichon with lots and lots of energy that he doesn't really get to spend because he does not get walks daily and is rarely played with. I suspect this has something to do with his behavior issues.
Basically he has a habit of pissing and pooping inside despite being sent out in the yard to do his business every morning. We live on a busy street and whenever he hears a car or pedestrians pass by he squeals and whimpers and even barks sometimes. When someone knocks at the door, rings the bell, or a guest walks in he will go crazy and bark at them until they give him attention. He also has the annoying habit of knocking over trashcans and spreading the contents everywhere. He also very ressource-aggressive and he will bite you super hard if you try to take something away from him, ie he eats the tissues he finds in the trash and there's no way to take them away from him besides bribing him with threats
Otherwise he's a super sweet and cuddly dog but he's just not very well trained. What are some things we can do to remedy his behaviour? He should definitely get more physical activity, like daily walks and everything, but will that be enough? I'm tired of coming across piss puddles and having to clean up trash 🥲
