I’m a first time dog owner so I’m really just coming here for some advice. I’m sure potty accidents are completely normal, but it seems very excessive with my pup. It’s been this way since we adopted her which was about two months ago. I let her out constantly all day to the point where it drives me crazy I’m practically opening my back door every 10-20 minutes just to get her to go outside and at least try to go potty. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn’t. She’s smart and knows the command “go potty” because when she has to she’ll go, even if it’s just a little bit and then she’ll come back inside. Problem is, sometimes I’ll let her out, she doesn’t go, then comes inside and goes potty within 5-10 minutes after coming back in which is a little frustrating. Not to mention her favorite place to go is my toddlers bedroom. Poop/pee she’ll do both. She’s peeing in the house a few times a day at this point which to me seems like quite a lot even though I’m letting her out constantly. And I mean CONSTANTLY. What’s odd is I’ve actually had days where we’ve had no accidents at all, but days like those are rare. I’m in a little over my head over here it feels like 🥲 but maybe that’s because I’m potty training my two year old right now as well so it just feels like all I do 24/7 is deal with pee! lol. I’m tired of cleaning up pee multiple times a day in the living room and my kids room. She goes on our carpet which is extremely difficult to thoroughly clean… I feel like I smell pee practically everywhere at this point and it makes my house feel dirty/unsanitary for my children, and just overall pretty gross. I’m not sure what to do…When I adopted her the previous owner made it seem like they had none of these issues with her. I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed as this has now been going on quite a while and pretty consistently. I would also like to add that she is somewhat crate trained and spends time in there during the day and sleeps in there at night and she usually doesn’t have accidents in there. She sleeps in her crate all through the night no issues what so ever. But when she’s in there during the day usually for a nap, or if im running errands, she’ll yelp and cry. When she starts to whine I usually assume maybe she has to go potty, so I’ll let her out, take her outside, and bring her back in and put her back in her crate. But when I let her out to freely roam my house that’s when these issues happen. I love animals to death and she’s a VERY sweet dog but I find myself starting to resent her a bit with all of these accidents and I don’t want to feel that way, I feel guilty for feeling that way. I’d also like to add we’ve ruled out that she doesn’t have any bladder issues/UTI Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you
