My Yorkie puppy is about 9 months old and has calmed down a lot since we first got him, my only confusion with him now is that whenever he gets a treat he really likes he throws it in my general direction and starts barking. I’m not allowed to touch it and he’ll grab it from me but if it slides under my foot he starts barking and when I go to move it he starts barking even more. I know it’s not resource guarding because he’s okay with me having the treat in my hands as long as I don’t pick it up after he’s thrown it, and this is with every treat I give him. He gets fed twice a day during training sessions and only does this with treats.
Why is he doing this and what can I do about it?
