Hi all, as the title says, my puppy is 5months old, as far as I can tell, all her adult teeth have grown through but she just won’t stop biting. I’m no vet so I’m sure I could be wrong about her teeth. I’ve tried everything, toy distraction, treats dispersed on the floor when it’s bad, time outs (me leaving the room). The only thing that stops her is when I stand up, fade away, cross my arms and ignore her.
The problem is during play time she goes for my hands over toys so I have to stop playing with her and can’t keep a game up for more than a minute or two. And during the evening when we just want to have an hour to watch tv, she’ll start with the hands and then climb all over and try to bite at the face.
I guess this is more of a vent than anything but I guess am I wrong, is she still teething? What tricks do you guys have to stop her biting and nipping (the pinchy front teeth are the worst)? Am I missing something? Most of the time she’s the light of my life but this has been making it difficult for some members of the family to really love her as much as they should.
I keep saying she’s just a puppy and she has a lot to learn but it’s proving beyond mypatience and understanding to teach this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx
