my puppy doesn’t eat his food

My 8-month old puppy doesn’t eat his kibble or wet food, and we are at our wits end trying to feed him.

He starves himself for hours and sleeps the whole day, but after his evening walk he runs up to us asking to eat our food. He doesn’t seem to be sick or anything, since he has energy and is very excited for walks.

We did think that he might be lonely, but he is never left home alone, and he always has at least 2-3 people at home to play with him and keep him company.

We’ve tried everything. Wet food from all brands for puppies, different flavors, kibbles of different brands, and nothing has worked.

He always runs to us asking for our food, so we started giving him mashed boiled carrots, or white rice with unsalted fish, which he eats some days and ignores some days all depending on his mood.

It’s extremely draining for us to run behind him and force-feed him just to get him to eat. When my friends come home he eats little kibble because they bribe playtime with him as a way to get him to eat. We have tried that too, but it just doesn’t seem to work 🙁
