My large senior dog has severe osteoarthritis and needs two total hip replacements

I live upstairs. I don't see how that is remotely possible.

I've only had him since august, maybe july.

I wish I could find someone to adopt him who is well off and lives in a place that doesn't involve stairs.

I am five years away from being able to afford to move downstairs.

(I own an upstairs condo. These condos tripled in value since i bought, but my income did not triple. I can't even get approved for a mortgage on the downstairs until I accumulate thirty thousand more dollars).

He's currently passed out after receiving an injection for osteoarthritis plus gabapentin plus a muscle relaxer.

He is supposed to take those two medications again in twelve hours, but the vet did not have an answer for me about how will he get up and downstairs to potty after taking those?

I guess I will feed him and take him out and hope that he poos quickly so that he can take his day dose.

And then I don't know how many hours will need to pass before he's capable of doing it again.

I gave him the medication two hours ago, he was snoring within thirty minutes, and still is.

11 yr old boxer mix and the poor baby has to also be on a diet.

It seems cruel to make him hungry while in pain, but losing weight will help with the pain.

My miscreant of a nephew adopted him from the shelter and then left him here after asking me to dogsit.

I knew he wouldn't live several years, but I also didn't expect to have this short of a time with him.

😞
