My fat cockapoo puppy

My 13 week old cockapoo is a big boy. He is much smaller when he’s wet, due to his fur shrinking down, but a fat boy nonetheless. He was 8 ish pounds when he was roughly 12 weeks. The vet told us he wouldn’t get bigger than 12lbs, as his parent are 14 and 17 lbs. That guess seems a little small, though
