My dog wont stop opening doors, HELP 😭

I’ve had my dog for about 4 years now. She’s a supermutt, very smart, but I’m officially at my limit with one specific behavior: she opens every door.

Whenever I put her outside in the backyard and shut the doors, she just… opens them. Sliding glass doors, knob doors, you name it. I really don’t want to have to lock every single door that leads to the backyard (there are a lot of them), because it’s a hassle and honestly I already hate cleaning, adding constant locking/unlocking feels like it’s going to blow my circuit.

The thing is, I never taught her how to open doors. I swear. The only commands she knows are super basic: sit, paw, lie down, roll over, etc. One day she just figured it out on her own and I was like “okay lol, guess that’s a skill you have now.”

But now she’s getting demanding. What bothers me the most is cleaning time. She CANNOT stand seeing a door shut. Like genuinely cannot tolerate it. She’ll go out of her way to open closed doors inside the house too, including sliding doors and even the bathroom glass ones. No door gets a pass.

It’s not a safety issue (front door and garage are always locked, so no escaping), but it’s driving me nuts that I can’t close a door without her hearing and BOLTING over to open it again.

Has anyone dealt with this? Is this a training thing, a boredom thing, or did I just accidentally end up with a dog who believes doors are a personal insult? Any suggestions appreciated.
