The title is pretty self explanatory but for maybe more context my grandma recently has started living with my family in our house ever since late November. and my senior chihuahua LOVES my grandma and always has.
So he’s recently definitely been really clingy towards her but all the animals have ever since she moved in so whatever. Plus he still hangs out with me so it’s okay. Well..my chihuahua (12) has always slept in bed with me at night ever since I was a little kid when we first had gotten him and recently ever since my grandmas moved in it’s like he just stopped.
He will stay in bed with me for a few hours and then randomly jump off the bed and scratch and whine at my door until I let him out and he goes downstairs and sits on the couch instead. I’ve tried just putting him back on the bed but he will jump off it again every. time. And I’ve always let him go potty before bedtime and when he jumps down and does downstairs I also let him out again to make sure he didn’t just have to go potty but then he STILL won’t lay in bed anymore.
My grandmas bed and all her stuff is downstairs so I don’t know if he’s just continuously been doing this because he wants to be down with her or something but I just don’t know what to do now because I genuinely can’t sleep without him. When he’s not in bed with me I get stressed and have a much harder time sleeping but now all of the sudden it’s like he just doesn’t want to sleep with me anymore…I’m really saddened by all of this and I just don’t understand. I’m mainly making this post to see if anybody’s else’s dog has done something very similar like this continuously or if there’s any advice somebody can give to make him just stop doing this?
