I have a 10 lb male chihuahua mix who has been having frequent accidents in the house. he is neutered and around 8-10 years old. he only has pee accidents in 1 room of the house. he also poops in that room but i’m less bothered by that as it’s easier to clean. I wouldn’t be bothered by the pee accidents, but it is becoming a daily thing and the room is carpeted, so I feel like it’s never truly clean no matter what products I use.
I’m looking for any advice to either help prevent accidents or do a thorough cleanup. I’ve considered blocking off the room, but it’s a very wide opening (like 140 in), so I don’t know if there’s a practical and affordable solution. I’m also worried that if I block access to that room, he’ll just find a new place to pee. I’ve considered diapers, but I have no experience with that so I’m not sure how it would go and if he would be comfortable. he does get regular potty breaks. Idk if it’s relevant but I also have a 10 lb female dog who is fixed and not prone to accidents. I really appreciate any thoughts/ideas, thank you!
