Hello! I have a german/swiss shepherd mix that is a bit much but a sweet guy. He is a little over a year old. His absolute favorite "toy" ever are the little plastic squeakers that he digs out of our older dogs plush toys (we get her new ones). Once he has a squeaker, it's all he plays with and sits for hours just throwing it around. The weird thing is, he doesn't even really squeak it, he just likes to kinda move it around his mouth, halfway biting it.
He sometimes throws his head back and I am afraid he may accidentally swallow it obviously. I always take them away but I can see it breaks his heart and he actively will search for it for a long time afterward and it's pretty sad.
Basically, are there any safe toys that are basically just giant squeakers that you'd find in a plush? I can't tell if he likes the type of plastic and the way it feels on his teeth or what, but any ideas are appreciated. I've seen some toys that sort of fit, but any ideas that are closer to internal squeakers the better! If you have a dog that is similar, what did you do for them?
