Hi, I adopted a small rat terrier mix (probably) from the shelter a few years ago. She has severe anxiety and definitely shows signs of ptsd. I’ve worked with her quite a lot to gain her trust and it’s all been very rewarding watching her learn how to be a dog for the first time. The problem is I’m now disabled T-T. My apartment has stairs and even just taking her out is challenging for me. I want to do as much as I can to help her anxiety but walking far is difficult. She really enjoys training and has been making some progress that way but I’m having a hard time figuring out a good way to provide enrichment. I can’t take her to the dog park and just sit while she runs around because she’s terrified of other dogs. Any ideas? I’m basically in an “elderly person w a dog” situation except my dog is traumatized.
