We recently got a new puppy about a month ago, and I’m really wanting to start the process of crate training and getting her comfortable being alone before I have to be out of the house most of the day for college classes, and I don’t want my mom to be stuck with a rambunctious puppy while she’s trying to work from home. I introduced a kennel to her by feeding her in it first, and she has no problem doing all the way back to the kennel every time, she’ll even go in and lay down on her own sometimes. But when I try to close the kennel she whines and cries so bad, giving her chew toys(which we’ve had a hard time finding a chew toy she really likes) a snuggle pup, and some nice treats she still will whine and cry so loud while the crate is shut, even if I’m in the room and she can see me or has the crate fully covered in a blanket. Do I just have to let her cry it out? I don’t want the crate to become a negative thing for her I want it to feel like she has a place that she can return to all the time but I really don’t know how to get over this hump, and I’m sure the crate training would really help with potty training too, any advice or resources on crate training would be insanely appreciated
