is it okay to get a dog at 15?

im 16, and my family has decided to get a family dog. we are rescuing a mutt puppy. this is out first pet. I do have experience in training and taking care of dogs. I helped train my friends puppy who wasnt trained for 3 years after they brought her home. I also take care of the strays around my house. I have experience grooming dogs through my uncle's dogs. but this puppy is a short-haired dog. my father will be there to financially support the dog and will also contribute in training the dog, though I will be the one taking most care of him. my mother has said she wont help with the dog (due to past reasons). my sister who is 21 currently will also help in taking care of the dog and helping financially. the only doubt I have is whether its a good idea to get a dog at this time. in my country one only moves out if they are married. so my sister and i will always be there to take care of him. none of the load will go into one person. I probably wont move out when I go to college as most of the good colleges are in my city, and even if i do move out, my sister whos currently in college will be home. there will always be atleast 2 people in the house who will take care of the dog.

theres a typo in the title mb
