I will be getting my puppy on Friday May 8th. The breeder is dropping him off at my home in the morning. He will be 9 weeks old.
That same weekend is also Mother's day, and my family is wanting me to bring the puppy over to my mothers place on Sunday when we go over for dinner. I honestly was just going to skip going as I don't want to overwhelm the puppy and had originally planned on giving the puppy a week at home to decompress and adjust before bringing him anywhere to meet family/friends.
My family is instant that the puppy will be fine and that everything will be ok etc. There will be 5 people there including myself. I really want to say no and just skip dinner this year, but I would also like to bring the puppy over to visit and socialize a bit. I worry the visit will overwhelm the little guy as he will have literally just arrived at his new home not even a day and half prior.
So, would you say this is to soon to bring the puppy out to meet new people? Or should I stick to my guns and wait a week like I have planned before doing so?
