We are one week into having our perfect angel baby, Moonpie! She’s a Bernese Mountain Dog/Golden Retriever and 8 weeks old, we are so impressed with how quickly she is learning and how well she does in her crate after only one week of having her.
To help our own sanity though, we are starting the 2:1 crate training schedule today. I’m a highly anxious momma and it’s really going to help me be able to rest and relax while she’s down and be able to get things done. She already is great at napping on her own without the crate, but it doesn’t stop me from watching her every movement if she’s out in the living room.
Question if you’ve done this, if she starts to nap early and it’s supposed to be “playtime”, do you let her nap? Or keep her up so it doesn’t disrupt the schedule? Also if she falls asleep during her scheduled nap time and we are just home on the couch watching a show, would you just let her sleep in the room with you or would you move her to her crate to finish the nap?
Thanks for the advice! This forum has been giving me lots of peace of mind. ☺️
