My husband and I have been together for 11 years. He had two bulldogs when we started dating. After they both passed, we decided to adopt another bulldog in 2021. She was about 4 maybe closer to 5 years old at the time. In 2023, we brought a bulldog puppy home. The first year of them together was fine and they bonded nicely. This last year, they started getting in fights, often scratching or having small bites which ended up in some bleeding – not a lot, it was a quick clean and healing. We moved over this past summer and have a temporary living situation where my adult stepdaughter and my stepgranddaughter live with my husband, me, and our two bullies. Our oldest bully has been nipping at my stepdaughter and step granddaughter. The fights between our two bullies have escalated the past month to about once a week now. Our youngest bully is usually the one who instigates the fights.
My husband just told me that either our oldest bulldog or both of them have to or he will leave. Our oldest bully is my souldog and we have deep bond so I’m really struggling with this. I know the dynamics are all problematic. I wanted to take them both to training but we’re in the process of buying a new house and my husband doesn’t want to spend the money. He’s over it all and I’m just struggling with this news. I don’t know what to do and just needed a place to put this all out and get some outside perspective.
