Howwww are we toilet training with toads?!?

As it’s getting hotter the toads are well and truly out. My lawn looks like some sort of witch and warlock meeting with their familiars.

My 18 week old puppy is still absolute dogshite with toileting, so I’m taking him out fairly often to avoid any accidents. Night time is a nightmare because of the toads – I’ve tried on a leash but it’s almost like he can’t concentrate because he thinks we’re going for a walk, which he won’t wee during either. I’ve held him while pointing them out and verbally saying “No!” Last week he was too quick for me and had one clamped in his mouth while I chased him around the yard shrieking like a kettle. At the moment I go out first and try to round them all up, but I’ll always inevitably miss one.

Is anyone else in the same boat??
