How to take dog out to potty during snowstorm?

I just moved to Boston from California a couple of years ago and this is my first real snowstorm. I live in an apartment and take my dog to a park a block away for me for potty. What do I do during the snowstorm? Would it be a bad idea to take her out once the storm hits this afternoon?
