How terrible are big name food options?

I’ve been buying taste of the wild dog food. It’s more expensive but It’s what the breeder had been feeding my dog prior

Are brands like blue buffalo bad? Or what are some good grocery store brands. I like the ingredients in the one we currently use, too. Just if we can save a little I’d like to.
