TLDR: 11week old pom-chiweenie living with me for a week. First week he went on the fake grass patch inside his playpen reliably. Now he won’t go outside at all, and eats mouthfuls of grass.
He has a crate that he reliably goes in and out of, doesn’t fuss when it’s closed just takes a nap.
This is my current approach:
After waking up, eating, playing: outside for 5 min, inside in crate for 20 min, outside again.
aaaaand nothing. He just walks around and eats grass. and when I bring him in he’ll go on the patch or not at all.
A couple questions:
The grass?? i understand curiosity but he eats it like it’s a meal. And yessss he’s fed enough
It’s been two full days of this, how long did you all have to do this until your pup took his first potty outside?
How would you reccomend going about this if I have to go to work but can check in during lunch?
I understand ‘catching him’ at the right time but i feel like i miss it by a few minutes or an hour each time 😭
