Has the crate ship sailed? I can’t leave my house, puppy goes bonkers at the shut of the door. I adopted a now 4-month-old rescue from Texas, and he arrived up here in the Northeast after a long, stressful 3-day transport with many other dogs. He’s goofy, loving, and bonkers-so perfect. I’m struggling mightily with the crate. And our senior roams free, which makes puppy lose his marbles. He screams from the depth of his little soul the second the door closes. He sees our portie out there and I think this intensifies the stress. I desperately want to make the crate a calm, cozy place for him, not something frightening. What’s worked for people with anxious or transport-traumatized pups in homes with an older dog who is not crated?
