My dog is a little bit atypical. I don't know what the start of his life was like, but I think it wasn't good (he's a rescue). We've had him for a long time now and he's an old man. I thought he would start to get more affectionate and stuff when he got older, but that doesn't really seem to be the case– he is chill and seems to like us (he has separation anxiety and gets excited when we come home) but he isn't affectionate with anyone. Sometimes he will lick you and he likes to be pet on his back, kind of by his tail but unless he's in a rare mood he just kinda likes to do his own thing and be off by himself. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something here? Is there a better way to bond with him? He doesn't really play, and he is CRAZY for food but I can't just be feeding him constantly. I want to pet him but I really can't tell if he likes it and I don't want to be annoying him
