How are we keeping our reactive/aggressive dogs safe and happy in their senior years?

I tried searching it up but honestly nothing similar popped up, lots of people looking for training advice or asking if they should put their dogs down 🥴 But anyway – my dog is heading into his 8th year of life, giant breed, SUPER sweet and loving with my family and our young children, loves people he knows. We just moved into a house with a decent sized yard so he can sniff around and be outside more. He is NOT good with other dogs (that he hasn’t known forever) and acts aggressive/reactive and sometimes not is good with new people/kids when he’s leashed or restrained. I just want to make his last years happy and relaxed for him, I always worry that something bad is going to happen.

Basically maybe I’m looking for incident prevention advice? I might double fence the yard or at least the fence that backs onto a sidewalk. And maybe also just looking for solidarity. I love my big boy. ♥️
