Hi all.
I have a lovely 12 week old yellow female lab puppy. My best friend has a 10 week old male black lab puppy. They are from different litters.
Over the past two weeks we have done a few introductions with them. Predictably – very excited with each other. They chased each other and wrestled with each other for over 10 minutes until we did an enforced separation to calm them down. In their second meeting, we let them charge around together outside then went into our house to see if they would settle.
In short- they couldn’t. They were constantly at each other, trying to continue to run around and play. I put my girl in her crate but they continued to try to get to each other. I gave each a chewie, which they ate, but then tried to steal each others.
Today, a similar meeting where despite having them on leads on the house they just could not stop being crazy with each other.
Is there anything we can do to get them to not be non stop crazy with each other? Ideally we were going to do dog sitting for each other on our work from home days but at the moment it’s just so crazy we can’t have them together.
Note: there isn’t aggression between them, and who is ‘top dog’ seems to interchange. They are just constantly wrestling/running around and won’t stop unless enforced.
