Our cockapoo is 1 year and 8 months old. He has always slept in his pen which we keep with his toys & water in a room that is lit with dimmed blue lighting. Until 2 weeks ago he has always just made his way to his pen between 10 – 10:30pm. Letting us know he’s done for the night. We take him out to go around 7am so he’s not had any accidents and waits for us to come get him. However for the last 4 weeks he doesn’t not want to go by himself to bed, as soon as we say it’s bedtime he runs and when we place him in the pen he starts barking. If we sit with him he ends up falling asleep but starts barking the moment we leave. Since he has a tendency of going pee/poop in the house if we don’t open the door the moment he stands by it to go outdoors we don’t want to take a chance of keeping him in our room especially with mornings being hectic. What do we do? We feel bad that he’s barking then whimpering. The only thing that’s been off the last month is that my husband has been traveling for work a lot so he’s been in and out a lot.
