Our 12 week old puppy is going to do me in. (1) He HATES the crate. He actually pees on himself in there and doesn’t care🥺. He needs to be in the crate when I go to work and I’ve tried treats and puzzles, his favorite stuffy (and they get peed on too). When I try with the bribes he refuses and then I have to put him in while he’s freaking out and I’m thinking I’m going to scar him for life. At night he prefers to sleep in our room on the floor by my side of the bed. He did perfectly the first night and now is peeing by the door. He never whines or cues us when he has to pee..
(2) He rings the bell to go outside to poop and does pee there but he has been peeing in the house a lot including on his new dog bed and after his bath peed on my clothes I literally just took off. We’ve talked to the breeder and of course she said her dogs have never acted this way and he’s manipulating me with the getting up at night and others who are like he’s not sleeping through the night yet?? which makes me think there is something wrong with him.
(3)He’s a biter, especially me. I know puppies bite. I get it. But I’m his person out of everyone in the house ,the one who feeds them, gets up with him, walks him, trains him, all of it. When I say no firmly he could care less. Anything to bite my skin or my robe. He’s bit me dead in the boob before😖. I give him a toy to deflect and eventually just have to move away from him. I don’t know if he’s tired or overstimulated and can’t tell the difference. I am the most patient person so I know it’s going to take time. I just want to get out of the puppy trenches unscathed and do the absolute best for him.
