Help! My dog got startled the other day and he has a snug harness but he managed to back up and it slipped right above his head like nothing and came off.

He is a small guy a daushund/shauzuher however you spell it the harness It fits him correctly. my question does anyone have a hack they were taught or know where if that happens if a back up to keep him secured still. ? Thank you
