This past week my four month old pup (she's been with us about a month) has been having a hard time getting to sleep, mostly at night. Nothing has changed in our routine except for the fact that she can’t get to sleep. She throws a MASSIVE tantrum until she tires herself out. Her crate is in my room and in her crate she has a little blankie that smells like me, a blankie with her mom and litter mates scent, and a snuggle pup along with a nylabone. We listen to audiobooks at night. I’ve tried:
- Taking her outside again
- Giving her a kong
- Offering a cold teething toy
- Comforting her (she bites me instead)
- Laying next to her crate
- Putting her crate on my bed (which has worked a tiny bit)
As we speak, she’s having a tantrum, alternating between crying and banging around her crate. I don't want her to be distressed but I also don't want her to think that throwing a tantrum will get me to come running every time.
