Had an unusual behavior from a street dog tonight

So I was on my way to the hospital to attend night duty for my Grandpa. Before that I gave a soon to be expected street cat some cat food. Then as I was walking on a street dog was just smelling my palm too close and wouldn't leave me alone. I didn't understand this behavior as it was cat food smell on my palm and not dog food. The brand was called reflex plus(mostly for Parisian cats as there was picture of Parisian can on every packet).
