golden retriever puppy refuses to settle or relax unless asleep in crate

We have a 10-week-old golden retriever puppy who we absolutely adore! Since bringing him home a few weeks ago, I've noticed he won't settle, relax, or sleep on his own, he only naps when we put him in his crate. Is this typical for a puppy his age?

No matter how much play, training, and enrichment we pack into the day, he never seems to wind down voluntarily. To work on this, we've been doing a few 10-minute sessions daily in his pen, rewarding him each time he lies down, but the calm is always short-lived.

Is that normal for him to never settle or nap when outside the crate? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
