I have a 9 week old golden labrador puppy and I’m really wondering if he’s not getting enough to eat.
I’ve been feeding him according to the instructions on the dog food package, which says three-quarter cup to 2 cups of kibble. As he settled into being in our home (weve had him for about a week) he’s gotten more crazy and while that is expected because it is a puppy I just wonder if partly he’s hungry. He’s been a lot more nippy as well. He jumps up and bites our clothes when we go outside with him (and that is sort of Driving me nuts!). I just wonder if he is hungry?? he goes crazy for food but I’m not sure if that’s just par for the course or if that could mean he’s hungry.
He doesn’t really have a puppy potbelly anymore, but I can’t quite recall if he really had one when he got him. I got him from a friend and she wasn’t really sure how much she fed him because she was feeding multiple puppies at once. I think she was pretty generous with feeding.
I know there are calculations you can do to figure out how much food the technically need to have but I’m just wondering about some more intuitive cues. He is pretty active. We play with him a lot and walk him. So I could see maybe him needing more food but I really don’t wanna overfeed him.
any thoughts on puppy feeding are welcome!!!
