Flirt pole question,,

How do you get your dog not to try bite the rope or pole itself and only focus on the toy??

I use toys that I know she loves but clearly the rope of the pole is more interesting to her… I can get her to focus / chase the toy for like a second then she goes back to just chewing the rope or worse trying to get the pole..

I never see dogs do this in videos of people playing with flirt poles so any advice would help because I can see it being a really good toy if I figure this out
