Hello everyone! My partner & I recently brought a 8 week old cavapoo home a couple days ago & she is a lil bundle of joy apart from the usual puppy stuff.
We have been crate training her, which at first seemed like a lost cause because all she would do is whine, but she is starting to adjust. At first she would have accidents in her crate & would whine like crazy. We put a divider in her cage & so far no more accidents. She whines a little bit when first put in but after a minute or two she will calm down which I am very happy about. She doesn’t sleep thru the night yet which we expected but day by day she is getting better.
The biggest struggle is potty training. We have had glimpses of success where we will guide her to the potty pad & she will go but she is also still having accidents now & then where she will try to go potty in random spots or even next to the potty pad.
Another problem is that my partner is having serious puppy blues because of the sleep deprivation & is strongly considering rehoming her. I have been trying to convince her that things will get better & that its just gonna take time. I am just looking for some advice, tips or tricks that can help with potty training & helping the puppy sleep thru the night. Thank you!
