3 month old poodle puppy. Been reading on puppy and dog behaviours and when I read about dog humping I was like hmmm I've never seen my puppy hump anything before. Wonder if/when he would. Especially since I'm gonna neuter him in future.
Well, this morning I went to stroke him and he grabbed my arm. I was like awww cute. Then iw as like wait a second….you're humping my arm. LOL. I was like, dammit. OK, so THIS is the humping behaviour.
Yesterday I noticed him humping while playing with his toys but it was like air hump lol.
I think this morning is from stress of being not let outside to play yet (I slept until like 2pm 💀 and he was very excited when i woke up and pet him from my bed) and yesterday is from excitement but previously I noticed 0 humping behaviour from him so I'm like huh this came outta nowhere. Natural part of development? (Had him for 3 weeks and have seen him play with his siblings and didn't see any humping)
Soo, yeah. I dont really want my arm humped so I guess in future I won't pet him like that and see if he still has that behaviour. A bit concerned cuz I'm worried he will hump strangers hands or legs because he loves hanging out with people and if he shows excitement by humping it's less ideal, lol. Going to observe.
