Hello! Looking for some advice, tips, and tricks in regards to the morning hunger pukes for our Cavapoo. Yes, I have taken Theo to the vet and the vet says that he’s medically fine/healthy and just needs a small snack/meal before bedtime.
Theo wakes up around 6am and goes to bed around 10pm; his meals are normally around 7am, 1230pm, and then 5pm. He doesn’t normally have hunger pukes in the morning but he had it once when he was 9-10 weeks old and then he’s had it 3 mornings this past week and he is 16 weeks old now. I feel he’s digesting and metabolizing his food faster because he’s going through a period of growth. He’s currently on Purina One puppy formula and has ¼ cup per meal (trying to keep him lean). He has a green pea and a cucumber slice with his meals as well. Throughout the day/evening sporadically he will have either blueberries, frozen carrot, apple slice, fruitable cookie (pumpkin and cranberry flavor), beef liver, or sweet potato treat. Before bed time I give him a little bit of kibble in his XS kong and a Bocce’s nighttime biscuit (I was initially just giving him the nighttime biscuit and only started giving him the kibble when he started having morning hunger pukes).
Looking for a better bedtime snack that will last longer in his stomach. Need ideas of easily digestible high protein or carb that won’t cause him to be overweight. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
