Six weeks ago we adopted a dog from a foster situation. He is an almost four year old 70% miniature poodle. The vet believes he is also part Lhasa Apso. He is the perfect new pet for my wife and I who are in our early 70โs. Heโs potty trained. He never asks to go outside. We just take him out every three hours or so and he does his thing. He is the perfect lap dog. He sleeps all evening, goes out between 10-11 PM, then sleeps 8-9 hours through the night. What we know about his past is puppy mill, fostered, adopted by a 21 year old woman who only kept him for a month, fostered and now with us. He doesnโt yap. He only barks when frightened. After six weeks heโs attached to my wife. Slow to respond to requests and commands. He is very sedate almost chomotose ๐. He gets frisky for a couple of minutes a couple times a day. Are these dog typically low energy or does his past predicate his present? Any thoughts?
