Does your dog’s herding/prey drive get worse if they don’t get enough exercise?

I think I’m having an epiphany. I recently added a new puppy to the family, and the older herding mix dog hasn’t been getting quite as much exercise as usual, but I thought he was okay with it. His prey drive around wildlife has gotten a lot more intense though, and I’m just realizing that maybe it’s because he’s not getting enough exercise?! Can anyone confirm?! I would love to get my mostly sane boy back!😂
