Do dogs have types they find attractive?

I got a new dog and she’s around 11 months old and every time she gets groomed(mixed wheaten terrier of sorts) my male dog (nurtured)try’s to hump her. Now he never does this when her fur is grown out and it is always when her haircut is 2 weeks new. I just found it funny and wanted to know if my dog has a type for short hairs
