How did anyone deal with the fear periods with your puppy?
I feel my 8 month old Corgi is deep in one at the moment. There are things that 2/3 months ago that didn’t bother her and now she is terrified.
She just got spooked by a bin bag on our normal everyday walking route and it could’ve ended up badly as we were near a busy road. I do have her on a short leash in those areas btw but she very nearly caught me off guard just now.
I try to give positive reinforcement with treats and praise where I can. I sense when her anxiety spikes and was always told to try move her along quickly as so to avoid her fixating. But my god its driving me round the bend and I am dreading walking her. I was hoping to get her out on short hikes with me soon but now feel like that wont be possible.
Any advice?
