Deaf/blind puppy crate and playpen advice

We recently adopted a deaf and blind puppy from a rescue. She is approximately 12 weeks old and weighs 9 lbs but we are unsure of her breed.

Because she lived with a foster for a few weeks, she came home with us already pretty great with potty training and somewhat comfortable with her crate. She’ll go in fine at bedtime with no fuss and will sleep until about 2-3 am but after that she’s barking almost every hour and we are exhausted. I would love to introduce enforced naps during the day or even just calm time so that eventually we can leave the house for a couple hours. Giving her treats or toys to relax just gets her more excited, and if we give her nothing she just starts barking after a few minutes. Music or tv also aren’t options for obvious reasons, but she does have the heartbeat stuffy.

I have tried all the tips to get her comfortable with the crate – feeding her in the crate, high value treats and toys, throwing in treats with the door open but am wondering if adding a playpen would help? And if we do introduce a playpen, should we put the crate inside it?

Would love some feedback on what a good set-up would be, as well as any other tips or tricks. Bonus points if you have experience with a deaf/blind puppy as well!
